-Refine the ORSA Risk Capital Methodology as it relates to the various risk categories, including Market, Credit, Insurance and Operational Risk.
-Lead ORSA production for various risk tracks.
-Develop an ORSA production environment for more regular ORSA assessments which will allow rapid re-estimation of ORSA Risk Capital to reflect changes in economic conditions or emerging risks.
-Develop, test and implement ORSA and LICAT calculation and reporting systems.
-Manage the interpretation of new and evolving LICAT and ORSA requirements and reconcile these updates to the corresponding LICAT and ORSA framework and implementation as it relates to the company.
-Lead the development of ORSA process documentation and controls.
-Present progress on methodologies, implementation and results at the ORSA Steering Committee.
-Prepare presentations and workshops for educating the company about ORSA.
-Draft sections of the global ORSA Report.
-Lead research initiatives in enhancing the ORSA framework and implementation as it relates to the company.


-Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (FCIA designation) or the equivalent is preferred.
-University degree in Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Financial Engineering, or Actuarial Science.
-5-10 years of relevant experience.
-Proven track record of effectively supervising direct reports and delivering on complex projects under tight timelines.
-Modeling, implementation and reporting experience with market risk, credit risk and insurance risk.
-Expertise in regulatory capital, economic capital and capital adequacy assessment as well as actuarial liability valuation methods.
-Knowledge in asset liability management.
-Excellent analytical and problem solving capabilities.
-Ability to work independently and under pressure.
-Strong technical skills.
-Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to explain technically complex issues in a simple and concise way.
-Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
-Strong knowledge of actuarial liability valuation production processes.
-Experience with advanced solvency assessment frameworks (ORSA, Basel II, Solvency II).
-Experience with risk neutral and real world stochastic modeling and implementation.
-FRM, CFA or CERA designation.
-Experience with presenting to senior leadership and/or executives at Steering Committees.
-Experience in managing a team, including delegating responsibilities and professional development, and also building a team, including talent assessment.
-Excellent communication and project management skills.
-Accountable and demonstrates initiative in improving processes and thinking outside the box.
-Skilled in managing relationships with other groups including Business Units, Corporate Risk, Corporate -Actuarial and Corporate Finance.
-Modeling: Stochastic Processes, Optimisation, Regression, Correlations.
-Application Software: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visio, GGY AXIS.
