Responsibilities:

-Provide expert support on content related to his/her field of expertise to various stakeholders and authorities.
-Oversee the development of policies, standards, models and programs to support the unit's projects and mandates.
-Advice and support clientele in the development, fulfillment, implementation and follow-up of various mandates being carried out.
-Monitor to understand and anticipate trends in his/her field of expertise and make appropriate recommendations to ensure best practices are developed for the organization.
-Take on responsibility for projects or specific mandates in his/her field of expertise and provide coordination for a team of professionals as required.
-May be called on to represent the unit before various committees made up of senior executives.
-Take part in negotiating with decision-making authorities of external businesses or organizations in field of expertise, as required.
-Serve as a contact person for unit members and clients.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in a related field.
-Minimum 5 years of relevant experience or a combination of related education and experience will be considered.
-Progression in CAS exams is an advantage.
-Understanding of actuarial concepts, general insurance concepts and business processes.
-High proficiency in SAS, Emblem or other actuarial software is an asset.
-Be able to complete mandates of high complexity and be creative with value-added solutions.
-Show good interpersonal skills and be able to negotiate win-win solutions.
-Experience in managing another resource’s time and coaching on technical subjects.
-Possess strong time management and organizational skills.
-Be proactive in your follow-up with your collaborators and take ownership to make it happen.
-Be able to voice your opinions to your managers and various Management Committees.
-Experience in giving technical or non-technical feedback - particularly to junior colleagues.
-In mandates, take action when objectives are not reached.
-Customer focus.
-Decision quality.

-Political savvy.
-Drive for results.
