Responsibilities:

- Leading a team of actuaries undertaking work for insurance companies including providing leadership regarding product development and quality of work output.
- Responsible for the training and development of the team.
- Providing leadership for both ongoing work and projects in relation to data management, technical premium study, rate indication, loss forecasting, accruals, self-insurance funds, ORSA, DCAT and cash flow analysis.
- Collecting and organizing data in support of the insurance company consulting business.
- Maintaining effective relationships with staff members.
- Maintain client relationships and participate in the building of new ones.
- Execute on client services needs both routine and unique.
- Support the National Practice Leader with business development.
- Communicate with clients both internally and externally.
- Understanding client’s needs by listening closely and cultivating trusting relationships with the client, colleagues and delivery of services that exceed client expectations.
- Provide leadership and development opportunities for the team by providing unmatched experiences and providing honest feedback to team members.
- Support National Practice leader on day to day management.
- Identifying an applying firm and industry best practices, constantly looking for new and better ways to service clients.
- Actively demonstrate the company’s expertise in the marketplace.
- Producing excellent results by leveraging team resources with maximum efficiency.

Qualifications:

- Fluently bi-lingual in English and French.
- FCAS is preferable; minimum requirement is ACAS.
- Strong communication skills.
- Require strong computer skills; knowledge of @Risk would be valuable.
- Previous leadership experience preferred.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Assist with business development.
- Client relationship focused.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
- Strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize under pressure of competing deadlines.
- Strong business acumen.
