Responsibilities:
-Complete pricing/experience studies that help inform refinements to manual pricing models with a focus on Group and Individual Health and Dental benefits.
-Recommend manual pricing changes based on results of pricing/experience studies as well as competitive feedback.
-Recommend manual pricing changes in response to legislative changes.
-Prepare actuarial pricing reports, and documentation for senior management sign-off.
-Present recommendations and results to senior management.
-Ensure manual pricing is properly implemented on the system
-Communicate manual pricing updates to stakeholders with support from the pricing team.
-Track results after pricing implementation to ensure desired outcome.
-Provide support for Internal Audit reviews.
-Provide support for actuarial quotes.
-Provide guidance on best practices for the entire Group Life & Health team.
-Ensure the,model inventories, and controls are kept up-to-date.
-Provide guidance and review submission and survey responses compiled by Group Life & Health Pricing’s Management Info Analyst.
-Oversee annual pooling studies, maintenance and updates to all pooling tools, systems implementation, and ownership/review of client specific pooling methodology
-Provide direction, training, and mentoring to direct reports
-Foster a positive, high-performing, highly collaborative and innovative environment to attract top talent from the Actuarial Resource Pool.
Qualifications:
-Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries
-Prior experience in actuarial roles
-Understands employee benefits, and individual health benefits. Seeks to better understand customer needs, and market dynamics
-Effectively carries projects forward through to completion.
-Builds collaborative and productive work relationships within Pricing and across functions.
-Communicates clearly verbally and in writing with SMEs and all levels of management.
-Fosters an environment that encourages both continuous improvement and new approaches.
-Motivates and provides guidance to employees to foster a highly engaged and productive team.
